SUMMARY:
This Town Creek Downtown Riverwalk development is part of a flood control project for the city of Jackson as well as Hinds and Rankin Counties. To control flooding, the Jackson and Rankin County river bottom would be dredged, deepened and cleared, allowing floodwaters to pass without endangering homes or businesses. The river would be dammed to create two 12-mile long, one-mile wide lakes. A three-mile long island would separate the lakes, opening up the opportunity for marinas, restaurants, shops, office buildings, parks, walking trails and residential living
