SUMMARY:

Our firm provided full architectural services for additions and renovations to Fitzhugh Hall at Belhaven University. The project included the demolition of the existing east wing originally constructed in 1918 which sustained structural failure to a portion of a three-story multi-wythe masonry bearing wall. We also designed and constructed a new three-story addition to match the massing, fenestration and materials of the demolished portion of the existing building to provide biology, physics and chemistry laboratories, offices and support functions for the Belhaven University science department. Upgrades were made to the electrical and mechanical systems.
