New fire station coming to Vicksburg
Dale Partners Architects P.A. is pleased to announce that it is providing full architectural services for a new fire station for the City of Vicksburg. The new station will be located on a 2.2 acre tract of land near the intersection of Maxwell Drive and Lum-Berryman Road in East Vicksburg.
Mayor George Flaggs had a vision for the new facility to service the eastern portion of the city near Interstate 20 because of the higher call volume, especially as it relates to medical and rescue services. “This administration is committed to providing the highest quality of public safety for our residents. This new, innovative fire station will help to reduce the overall number of fire stations needed in the city, as well as help improve our fire rating. It is my hope that the new station will serve the citizens of Vicksburg for many years to come,” said Mayor Flaggs.
The base bid design will have two apparatus bays and an alternate bid item for a 3rd apparatus bay. Dale Partners began design work in April 2016, and the project is estimated to complete construction in August 2017 at this time.
The City of Vicksburg is excited to collaborate with Dale Partners once again on the design of its new fire station. This is the second fire station Dale Partners has designed for the city of Vicksburg. The firm provided full architectural services for Fire Station #5 that includes two pull-through double-loaded bays, captain’s office, a lobby, dayroom for eight firemen, kitchen and dining area, dormitory room and other support areas. That project was completed in 2010.
